4 New WhatsApp Voice Features You Can Use on iPhone

Voicemails have become routine for many people these days. After all, why write a bunch of words on such a small keyboard when you can just talk instead?

WhatsApp was one of the first instant messaging apps to use voice memos, and since its launch it has become a very successful feature.

Millions of voice messages are sent every day these days, and WhatsApp knows it. That’s why it constantly updates this feature.

The latest app update has brought four new voice features that make it easier than ever to send and receive voice messages! Here’s everything you need to know.

WhatsApp introduced four new features

Meta claims that more than 7 billion voice messages are sent every day on WhatsApp. While that number sounds incredible, it’s actually made possible by the fact that voicemails are easier to send and easier to hear.

For this reason, WhatsApp got four new features for voice messages. These features are already available on iPhone and Android devices, so you can start sending and receiving voice messages to your friends and family using these new features.

Non-chat reading

The read-out-chat feature is perfect for people who use WhatsApp for work. You can start listening to a voicemail on WhatsApp and exit the app to do other things, and the voicemail will continue to play until it is finished.

On iPhone, you can swipe up and down to access your notification center and pause or resume the message whenever you want. You can also fast forward or rewind if you missed an important part.

This is very useful for people who need to multitask with their iPhone. If you receive a message from your boss or co-worker, you can hear it quickly and start working on everything they told you without losing your message.

Memorize reading

Another cool feature you can use is reading memory. For example, if you start listening to a voicemail message, but remember that you need to go do something else, you can pause the voicemail message, and the message will just stay in the second you paused it. so you can pick up where you left off later.

This feature will work even if you completely close the app from your App Switcher, so you don’t have to worry about having to listen to the same message again.

Pause/Resume Recording

This feature is so useful; it’s surprising that WhatsApp took so long to implement it. You can now pause or resume your own recordings, allowing you to take more time to think about what you want to say and then get on with your message instead of having to say it all at once or piece together a series of different voice messages. .

All you have to do is start your recording by sliding the microphone up. Then you will see the pause button in the middle of your recording. You can tap on it to collect your thoughts and then tap on the red microphone icon that will appear instead of the pause button to resume your recording.

Waveform visualization

This feature is quite simple, but it is still useful. You’ll see a visual representation of your voicemail sound when you start speaking. If you notice that the waveform does not change, it means that your microphone is not picking up any sound and correct your voice message before sending it.

Draft Preview

Whether you’re messaging a colleague or a friend, it’s very important to have a draft preview of what you’ll be sending. You can now preview your voicemail message before sending it, which makes it more useful if you need to send an important and professional voicemail message.

Quick reading of forwarded messages

You can now speed up the voicemail messages you receive, whether they are normal or forwarded messages. You can play voicemails at 1.5x or 2x speeds to listen to any message faster.

All you have to do is press the 1x button which appears on the right side of the message after reading it. This button will appear where the other person’s profile picture is, so you can’t miss it. You can tap it three times to return to normal speed if you want to take your time listening to it.

Enjoy voice messages on WhatsApp

All these features are already available on WhatsApp for all devices. If you don’t see these features, you should try going to the App Store, search for WhatsApp and see if an update is available. Then you can make the most of these features and improve your voice messages for the better.
