Did you know these secret WhatsApp tips and tricks?

Are you looking for ways to get the most out of WhatsApp on your Android or iPhone? We are here for you. For example, a new setting is being rolled out that would automatically delete your communications after a week. Sure, it’s a Snapchat-like feature, but who says it can’t be found in other apps? You can even format the text you send in a message to add flair to an otherwise boring conversation.
Alternatively, you can use WhatsApp on your PC, which is possible. It is also simple to set up and use. You will find information on a variety of secret WhatsApp features and gadgets in the sections below.
1. Spice up your messages by formatting the text.
Text can be bolded, italicized or struck out on the fly in WhatsApp. To do this, you will need to put some special characters before and after the text you want to format.
Use an asterisk (*bold*) to make text bold; an underscore (_italics_) to italicize the text; and tildes (strikethrough) to produce strikethrough text in WhatsApp.
2. Make your text messages disappear
WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that lets you turn on disappearing messages for particular conversations. When you turn it on, all of your messages in a conversation will be deleted after seven days.
Disappearing messages can be activated by tapping the contact or chat name at the top of your screen. Tap On after selecting Disappearing Messages from the list of alternatives.
Don’t forget that all the photos you send or receive are automatically saved on your phone or on the recipient’s phone. So even if the message with the photo is deleted, the image itself can be kept.
3. Star a post to easily find it later
By starring a post, you can quickly jump back to a memorable post, phone number, location, or article link a friend sent you. Long press the message, then tap the star icon. When browsing your chat, a small star icon appears next to the message so you can easily identify it.
On an iPhone ($499 at Apple), click the Settings tab and select Starred Texts to view your starred messages. Tap the Menu button on an Android device, then tap Starred Messages.
4. Browse your storage and see who you talk to the most.
Do you want to know who your WhatsApp BFF is? It’s simple to understand.
Go to Settings > Storage & Data > Manage Storage on your iPhone or Android phone. A list of contacts will appear, sorted by who is using the most space on your phone. More specific stats, such as the number of messages sent, photos, and GIFs, can be found by tapping on each contact.
WhatsApp’s new Storage section makes it easier to delete large items that use up space on your phone, while also letting you see who you talk to the most.
5. View message details
Have you ever wondered when a message was read or delivered? To check these stats on your iPhone, swipe left on a message you’ve sent. Long press on a message on an Android device, then press the menu button, then Info.
6. Cut a conversation
Use WhatsApp’s mute option to mute a chatty group chat or a friend who doesn’t get the signal that you’re busy before going to the movies or a meeting.
Long-press a chat on an Android device, then tap the crossed-out speaker symbol at the top of the screen. Swipe left on a chat on an iPhone, then tap the three-dot button, then tap Mute.
You have the option to mute the sound for 8 hours, a day or forever.
7. Hide your last seen status
Knowing that people can see when you were last online can sometimes be stressful and forces you to respond to outstanding messages.
Don’t want your friends or casual contacts to know the time of your “last visit”? Select Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen from the drop-down menu.
Then choose between Everyone, My Contacts and Nobody.
8. Disable Read Receipts
You can even turn off read receipts in WhatsApp if you want to go further. This will hide the fact that you have read a post from other users.
Uncheck the box or slide the switch next to Read receipts to the Off position in Settings > Account > Privacy.
Note: If you turn this feature off, you won’t be able to see when a friend has seen your message.
9. Use WhatsApp on a computer
When you’re juggling multiple chats or having a long conversation with an old friend, sitting at your computer and using a full keyboard and mouse is a much better experience. And you can do it with very little effort through the browser version of WhatsApp, PC or Mac apps.
We’ll walk you through the process, which shouldn’t take more than 3 minutes.
