Facebook adds several new messaging features to Instagram and Messenger
Facebook already has one of the best messaging apps out there, but the company is adding more features. The social media giant has announced that it will add several new features to both Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs. He said the new features will improve the user experience while allowing them to be more expressive in the way they chat. Among the various features announced, the most practical seems to be the addition of the status seen from the inbox in Instagram. This lets you know by simply seeing in your inbox whether or not the person you messaged to recently saw your DM. This will make it easier for you to tell if your contact is ghosting you.
Another equally important feature is added to Messenger. Facebook has now made it easier to hide old chats. This can be done without removing it as the social media giant added a swipe to archive the gesture. At the same time, the company has made it easier to review these conversations. Their research will no longer be necessary. You can find them very easily through a menu item accessible by simply tapping on your profile picture. You can send your chat to the new archived chats folder by simply swiping left on a chat from Messenger. By doing this you will have the option to send it to the archive folder and if you want to do that just hit the purple button there.
Since Clubhouse gained popularity, all social media platforms have been striving to improve audio related features. Facebook is also working on it. The social media giant now allows users to simply tap the microphone icon if they want to send a voice memo. Earlier on Messenger, you had to tap and hold the icon to record the voice. According to the company, this feature will also be available on Instagram soon. Another feature is how you respond to Instagram photos and images. The feature will allow users to respond with their own images from video clips. Initially, this feature will be available for iOS users, but it will soon launch for Android users as well.
