Prominent playback singer Geetha Madhuri is the latest addition to the club of celebrities who have fallen prey to imposters and online fraud.

In her recent Instagram Stories, Geetha Madhuri has alerted fans against an online impostor, who she claims is chatting on popular messaging and video calling app WhatsApp using her name. In the note on her Instagram Stories, Geetha also urged everyone to be careful and not share any numbers with anyone.

She wrote: “Someone is chatting like me on WhatsApp with my picture as a profile picture of a US number, asking for other people’s numbers. IT’S NOT ME!!! Please be careful and don’t share no number!!! (sic)”

In the past, BB Non-Stop celebrity Ashu Reddy and actress Vadinamma Maheshwari have also warned fans and followers on social media about online scams on their names. They took to their respective social media handles to report “fake” contact numbers on their names and alerted fans to online scammers. Sharing a screenshot, Ashu encouraged everyone to give a strong retort if someone tries to contact through the fake number.

Career-wise, Geetha was the BB Telugu Season 2 runner-up which crowned Kaushal Manda as the winner. She is currently considered as one of the current season mentors of the popular singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Telugu hosted by Sreemukhi. She frames the show along with Srikrishna, Saketh, Arun and Revanth.

Geetha was one of the singers in popular song Jai Balayya featuring actor-host Unstoppable Nandamuri Balakrishna and Pragya Jaiswal.
