India to play an important role in building the metaverse: Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta

The company, formerly known as Facebook, changed its name in October to signal a change to become an emerging computing platform focused on virtual reality, instead of just being a social media giant.
âWhen we think about what the next generation will look like in terms of where all these creators and developers come from, who are really going to lay the groundwork for the metaverse, I think it’s just obvious that India is going to be a big one. part of that, âZuckerberg said at the Meta’s Fuel for India event on Wednesday.
In Zuckerberg’s vision, people will meet and communicate by entering virtual environments, whether they are talking with colleagues in a boardroom or hanging out with friends in different corners of the world.
âIndia is the biggest country in the world that already uses the social media services we use, on Facebook and WhatsApp, of course, and Instagram is growing incredibly fast,â he said. âAnd we just want to make sure that we can basically do our part to continue unleashing that potential because I just think the experiences that people are building here are going to improve the lives of people all over the world. And I just think that is. is a great thing. ”
Meta hopes to double its social media user base of over 3 billion people worldwide, into an audience that embraces immersive digital experiences.
