Mark Zuckerberg Forgets To Eat Due To Facebook’s New Project
“I think I lost 10 pounds last month because of it, but our new products are going to be [fire emoji]. “
Forgetting to eat
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is like us. The billionaire is so excited about his job, he says, that he can hardly keep it together.
“Have you ever been so turned on by what you are working on that you forget to eat?” the CEO wrote in a status update Thursday (remember?) on his Facebook profile.
“It continues,” he added. “I think I lost 10 pounds last month because of it, but our new products are going to be [fire emoji]. “
Given Facebook’s propensity to do as much harm as good in the world – or, as many have argued, far more harm than good – people were understandably a bit surprised by Zuckerberg’s revelations.
“Something Incredibly Bad Is About To Happen,” Washington, DC Progressive Radio Station District Sentry written in a tweet about Zuckerberg’s admission.
Avatars or whatever
But the reality is probably innocuous.
A day later, Zuckerberg uploaded a video of himself personalizing his adorable Oculus Quest avatar, a new feature he says “lands today.”
This is such a mundane new feature that it won’t even support reporting. Oculus Avatars are a series of customizable avatars for those of us who own Oculus Quest headsets. According to the Facebook-owned company, character movements have also been improved through machine learning.
It’s unlikely that we’ll ever find out what Zuckerberg was so excited he forgot to eat. But then again, creating VR avatars is a good distraction, and a lot more fun than acknowledging that your company’s platform is facilitating or covering up genocide in other parts of the world – or giving your workers PTSD.
