Meta (formerly Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg claimed an exhilarating AI breakthrough in the company, where he said Meta’s AI research has built a system that learns from speech, vision and text without the need for labeled training data. Zuckerberg made his statements in a lengthy Facebook postIn a lengthy Facebook post.

The head of Meta said the company’s AI research has developed a system that learns from speech, vision and text without the need for labeled training data and can help people complete tasks complex such as the kitchen.

“People experience the world through a combination of sight, sound and words, and systems like this may one day understand the world the way we do. All of this will eventually be integrated into eyewear. AR with an AI assistant, for example, could help you cook dinner, noticing if you miss an ingredient, prompting you to lower the heat, or perform more complex tasks,” Zuckerberg said.

Netizens divided over Meta’AI breakthrough

As soon as Facebook owner Zuckerberg shared the post, some netizens reacted with humor, unable to control their laughter at artificial intelligence becoming as advanced as the CEO of Meta claimed. One of those users joked, “Of course…anything that allows me to be lazier. (sic)” Another commented, “Technology will definitely change the way we live! (sic)” A third Facebook user wrote: “This is absolutely amazing Mark Zuckerberg…META (sic)”

However, there was a group of people who strongly disagreed with the idea claiming that this breakthrough can hurt humanity. One Facebook user took to the comments section and wrote: “Note this is not an exciting breakthrough: it is a nightmarish prelude to man-made horrors beyond our comprehension. (sic)” A second user added, “The way things are going, this could be really devastating for humans. I hope those who run the world think of us.

Meta launches Pledge Planets on Messenger Kids

Meanwhile, taking precautionary cybersecurity measures, earlier today on January 20, Meta launched Pledge Planets on Messenger Kids, an interactive game that teaches children how to make smart decisions online, stay in security and develop their resilience.

Meta says the Messenger Kids Pledge encourages kids to be kind, respectful, safe and have fun. In the game, children help characters navigate various social settings and make decisions that lead to positive outcomes in each episode. Children will learn that their respectful, safe and enjoyable actions have a significant impact on those around them after completing the games, the company claimed.
