IIn case you missed it, we launched Forbes‘ seventh annual list of 30 under 30 in Europe last week. The 300 visionaries highlighted on the list are young entrepreneurs and leaders who have transformed business and society.

While the ongoing global pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine have wreaked havoc on the European market, these winners remain positive: some 80% of those listed believe the European economy is ripe for entrepreneurship, and collectively, they have raised more than $2 billion in funding for their companies, more than double the amount raised by last year’s winners. Speaking of numbers, this year’s class represents 10 industries in nearly 30 countries, and 59% are founders or co-founders.

These entrepreneurs join former creators under 30, including singer-songwriter Adele, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, actress Cynthia Erivo and athlete Marcus Rashford. Some of this year’s lists are already household names, like Simone Ashley, who played Kate Sharma in the second season of the hit Netflix series. Bridgerton.

James McIlroy, founder and CEO of EnteroBiotix, which improves fecal transplantation, an invasive procedure that moves microbes from a healthy patient to the gut of a sick person, is also named to this year’s class. It has raised about $23 million and plans to launch a phase 2 clinical trial focused on liver disease by the end of the year. Then there is Anastasiia Lapatina, journalist at the Kyiv Independent whose on-the-ground reporting of the Russian invasion has earned him more than 600,000 Twitter followers. She is joined on the list by her colleagues Toma Istomina, Anna Myroniuk and Oleksiy Sorokin, who coincidentally founded the Kyiv Independent last fall after their former employer, the Kyiv Postabruptly stopped.
