Meta is currently testing a WhatsApp Avatar feature
To improve the chat experience, WhatsApp will add a new avatar function. This feature which is already in beta testing will help users turn into shareable stickers while chatting with friends.
WhatsApp’s new avatar feature is similar to the popular Apple Memoji, Google’s Bitmoji, Samsung AR Sticker, and OPPO’s Omoji. These types of avatars are unique to each device’s UI and experience and allow users to create stickers from their photos or videos.
According to current beta testers, there are many use cases for the upcoming WhatsApp avatar. While chatting, users can use their avatars as stickers. Avatars will also help hide a user during a video call or serve as a profile picture. Many WhatsApp users will welcome this feature once it becomes available.
Although the WhatsApp Avatar feature is still under development, we can confirm that it will be available shortly. Mainly, the ability to create avatars on all devices is still being worked on. Its performance may vary from device to device as more expensive flagship devices will perform better.
WhatsApp can refresh the creative process with a few soft touches where devices fail. Once available, it will be rolled out to the global community via an app upgrade.
